Pizza in the US is reported to have been started here at Pepe's. There is always a line to get in, but is so worth the wait. It is the best pizza EVER... It is even in wikipedia --- Wikhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Pepe_Pizzeria_Napoletana
It's always been my belief that when in strange towns and foreign lands, I eat where the locals eat, and always where the food is honest and the seats (or queues) filled.
Being a pizza fan, I'd love to try here as in the UK, we tend to get mainstream joints and not too many authentic ones. SOUL AFLAME @ January 11, 2010
pizzas are very simple to make. if you make it from scratch, with real ingredients, they taste yummy unless you really mess them up.
but its funny how everyone has their own signature pizza with a unique style/taste. you can go to pepes, dominos, ginos, shakeys, whatever, and no two places are ever the same.
and yes, i'll stand in line for a great pizza too. Seraphine @ January 11, 2010
I opened the Wiki link and found out this pizzeria is in New Haven, Connecticut, Yvonne. I'd try it out, just knowing pizza was started there. :) Ginnie @ January 11, 2010
I'd love to try a (pizza) pie here. I bet it is wonderful. :-) Earl @ January 11, 2010

Always wondered where pizza started. Nick @ January 11, 2010
Great shot, love the angle and framing. One of my favorite foods, eat pizza at least once a week. Very appealing image, looks like a great place for pizza. John Maslowski @ January 11, 2010
Interesting info and what a great old sign. They'd have to be good to be in business for so long. sherri @ January 11, 2010
if you want the real thing, visit Napoli in Italy. That is where the pizzas really come from :) desfocado @ February 10, 2010
