Manassas Grass 1 of 2
Last summer I stumbled by Manassas National Battlefield Park (http://www.nps.gov/mana/index.htm) on the anniversary of the first battle of the US Civil War. I drove through miles of open fields. It is a very peaceful location, now. It is hard to imagine the sadness, pain, and death that occur on these fields.
I posted an image from this same location back in the summer, if you are interested the link is here: http://auntyvonne.com/index.php?showimage=212
A fabulous photograph, made poingnant by it's historic relevance. So often the scenes of the fiercest battles are now the most serene and tranquil of locations as we ponder the destruction and mayhem that happened here. Superbly captured, and now full of beauty SOUL AFLAME @ February 12, 2010
Sur ! that reminds me the location of Dances with Wolves (the greatest film ever done). Joseph @ February 12, 2010

i would not mind visiting that place ... beautiful! crash @ February 12, 2010
I've always felt these locations where so many have struggled and died retain some of that energy. I don't know I believe in ghost or spirits, but if there do exist they could well be at these battlefields. Have a wonderful weekend! Earl @ February 12, 2010
I often find that battlefields are very peaceful in contrast to their turbulent past. CherryPie @ February 12, 2010
Magnifique!
Bonsoir de France.

How luxurious. Just makes you want to sit and listen to the wind. GJC @ February 12, 2010
We've been there many times. I like your low angle here. Knowing where it is, it has the feel of mystery for what's over the hill. sherri @ February 12, 2010
on s'enfonce de plus en plus dans la chevelure de la terre et c'est doux Lasiate @ February 12, 2010
lovely rhythm in this in both the grass and the lines of the hill. michele @ February 12, 2010
